Cordyline is a striking evergreen shrub with an exotic, architectural shape. It forms a single trunk or multiple stems topped with dense tufts of long, narrow, leathery leaves. Often called cabbage palm or Torbay palm, it is not a true palm. The most common species, Cordyline australis, is native to New Zealand and comes in green, coloured and variegated forms. Green varieties are the most vigorous, reaching up to 5m tall, while coloured and variegated types usually grow to 2.5–3m (smaller in containers). In summer, mature plants produce fragrant ivory-white flowers that attract bees, followed by berries loved by birds. Grow in a sunny, well-drained position sheltered from cold winds, or in a large container that can be moved indoors over winter. Supplied in a 17cm pot Height 65–75cm Price per plant Varieties available: ‘Red Star’ and Variegated Please note your preferred variety at checkout, we’ll do our best to supply it if available.
